Along with providing 3 different positions in the one stool, the Dragon bench has 40mm of integral skin molded padding and we’ve angled the seat to align your pelvis relieving pressure on the lower back & knees. Made in Australia, the Dragon bench was created by Melbourne inventor Colin Steele in 2004 out of the need to find a way to sit comfortably at floor level. Colin is a passionate meditator and frequently attends Vipassana meditation retreats that go for 10 days with up to 10 hours meditation per day. Colin has experienced a significant improvement in his ability to sit for prolonged periods since developing the Dragon Meditation Stool. The Dragon seat has gained local recognition becoming a finalist in the 2010 Melbourne Design Awards.

The Dragon seat is made from sustainably managed New Zealand pine plywood. New Zealand Pine (Pinus Radiata) originally a native of California, excels in Southern New Zealand soils and climatic conditions. New Zealand Pine yields a strong, economical and versatile light coloured timber. Tall, clear trunks produce timber highly suited for the Dragon meditation seat. We also support the Great Forest National Park.
